Pedro brings along a fruitful career of twenty two years which taught him useful tools working for Customs Agents, Shipping Agencies, Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs, performing in both operative and commercial roles, being backed by his studies in Foreign Trade and his knowledge in the local and regional market. Now, in his new position in MTA, he will be making the best of his know-how and talent in order to develop new business opportunities.

Sergio Muñoz

Sergio has over sixteen years experience in Shipping Agencies in Chile, where his career has flourished in variouos areas: Boarding Agent, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Product Manager, Commercial Manager, providing him with profound experience, knowhow and intricate insight of the different spheres within the shipping industry.

His professional journey has taken him throughout Chile: Concepción Bay, Antofagasta, Valparaíso, Coquimbo and Santiago.

He holds a deeply-rooted knowledge of the Chilean market, maintaining close connections with key Ship Owners and Trading Houses.

Claudio Espinoza

Partner & Director of Operations

Throughout his career, Claudio has excelled in several roles (Boarding Agent, Opertions Supervisor, Branch Manager, Product Manager and Operations Manager) obtaining experience and knowledge key to take on future challenges.

As Operations Manager he was responsible for the monitoring and supervision to ensure the delivery of services in every port from Arica to Punta Arenas.

Claudio has a detailed knowledge of shipping operations in Chilean ports, boosting excellent relationships with stakeholders involved in key operations: port authorities, port administrators and suppliers.

María Barreiro

Commercial Representation based in Uruguay

María has over ten years experience in the trading and shipping market, with a strong background in the execution and operations fields.

She was Commercial Oil operator for Latam, Oil Operations Support team manager, Senior Operator and Carribean, Mexico and WCSA desk Team Leader.

María brings on both experience and fresh knowledge of the industry, providing MTA with a solid strategic commercial focus.

Esteban Henning

Commercial Manager

In 2014 he came to Chile from Germany to build his career in the shipping industry where he worked as operator for container vessels, in freight forwarding of project cargo, attended vessels as boarding agent and worked as key account manager for different main customers.

Strongly knowledgeable of the Chilean coal business, project cargoes and especially; in steel and break bulk operations.

He has managed to quickly learn the complexity of the business and obtained the required abilities to contribute to his customers’ value chain. Deeply involved and committed to his service, he works along his clients enhancing operations with extreme efficiency. Esteban provides a fresh and challenging input into the MTA team.

Luis Alberto Fernandez

Port Manager

Luis A. has over 35 years experience in shipping and stevedoring agencies. He built his career in different ports of Chile, being strongly involved during his last 20 years in the Bays of Antofagasta and Mejillones, in terminals such as ATI, Puerto Angamos, Terminal Mejillones, Interacid, among others. Thereby, he developed a fine tuned management of both legal framework and operational expertise.

LAF contributes to MTA as a strong key figures in the northern Chilean ports with his years of all-around know-how.

Kriss Goldsworthy

Port Manager

As Maritime Transport Engineer graduated in 2006, working in the logistics, port and transport sector since 2000, I obtained vast knowledge and experience in my field.

Challenges in many companies in operative and commercial positions have forged a career that led me to Antofagasta where I developed and led large projects from my position in agencies, in stevedoring companies and the mining industry.

Now, from my new position in MTA, we are working on the development of our brand while competing for a stronger position in our local market, having our customers’ needs always in the center.

RAUL RUIZ

Port Manager

Raul has over 20 years experience in several shipping agencies in Chile where his career has flourished in various areas such as: Boarding Agent, Operations Manager, Loading Master, Super Cargo and also being the last 3 years the Port Manager of a stevedoring company, providing him with profound know-how in different cargoes and fields within the shipping industry.

His professional performance has taken him throughout various Chilean port sites: Concepción Bay, Valdivia, Puerto Montt, Calbuco, San Antonio and even other countries such as Argentina and Uruguay. With this, he brings along a deep knowledge of the shipping business, providing also fresh ideas to continuously improve and distinguish ourselves in this dynamic business.

SEBASTIAN MONTECINOS

Logistics

Within his 8 years occupying different positions, Sebastian has developed his career in the logistics field as business developer, foreign trade manager of a Chilean explosives (IMO 5.1) importer and logistics manager in a container depot, among others.

His knowledge is backed up by his diplomas as international business executive and in strategic contact management. Gaining vast knowledge in foreign trade and studying projects, he has become a logistics expert in bulk and break bulk cargoes; especially to highlight the handling of IMO 1.1 and 5.1 cargoes.

FERNANDO QUIJADA

Port Manager

Fernando possesses a diploma in maritime transport from prestigious university which opened him the doors to start his career firstly working for a Chilean carrier in Santiago and then moving to Punta Arenas to develop business for a foreign oil company in their logistics segment related to their Magellan drilling operations. Later, there was a change to a local shipping agency where he acquired an all around knowledge over the shipping industry and learnt about each role of the different actors. This was right before he moved to Puerto Natales, where he got promoted as Terminal Manager of the shipping agency and stevedoring company, taking control of the coastal trade and cruise vessel business. Now, he joined MTA where he will remain in Puerto Natales, continuing to thrive in this very specific local niche business.

We are glad to have Fernando onboard our team now as we are sure he is equipped with the right tools to continue growing personally and professionally, targeting very specific operations of the Chilean shipping industry.

Alex Martinez

Operation Manager

Alex has over twenty two years experience in the shipping industry, performing in various areas as Boarding Agent, Disbursement Accounts, Trade Management, operating container vessels, executing as Operations Manager, among others. In the bulk industry, he had the opportunity to work in different countries such as England, Australia and the Philippines where he has trained teams for vessel operations. This provided Alex with a robust knowledge which allowed him to grow professionally and personally as well. The upcoming challenges will be to lead MTA’s operations along the Chilean coast to deliver a solid, tailor made service thanks to understanding the commercial background of our customer’s needs and being operationally well equipped to defend their interests in port sites.

With his strong commitment and team work spirit, he managed to build excellent relationships with teams and personnel in the shipping and terminal industry. We are convinced that Alex will continue to be a strong element of Midstream Trade Agents and we are happy to have him onboard.
